The silence before sunset

The cat that looms around this building was lying on the porch
She was looking at me as I was going
A heavy duty bag over my left shoulder
I turned around and traced a smile
I waved my hand to say goodbye
The day is at its end
A fresh wind blows the sun
And the sun slowly descends
The clouds have this beautiful color of an orange peel
Pierced by sunlight with a grace like a water stream
Usually, all birds retreat to their nest at this hour
With chirping sounds everywhere. but the sky is sour
I only hear this deafening silence before the sunset
The nostalgia is heavy as I embark on my quest
I get in the car, I breathe
I hold on to a little piece of hope
Ways lead on to ways I observe
The panorama as I brave the road
