A leaf on the ground

A strong branch

A fruit pearled

The leaf of a banana tree

Yellow and old

Stays attached to its plant

And carries the story of the past

The tempests it lived through

It carries the secrets

Intact and written

Coded in lines pattern

A library

But like winter clothes in hot summer

It is also a burden

When the lessons have been kept

And the pain has long left

It is now, only a reminder

A proof of the tumult of regrets

Grandmother Said

"Cut the old

Hanging leaves

Weighting down the tree"

For its future to be prosperous

Its mistakes made

The fibers of its trunk

Strong

The roots will dig deeper

For when the next bad weather

Comes
