On a hot summer day,
I lost my phone,
Two hours before a biochemistry exam.
And after grief I realized;
I should take this chance to leave my past behind.
The price is heavy,
But If I leave now I will never have to justify.
I shall say ages and ages hence
I lost my phone on a summer day
I took this chance to leave my past behind
Although I left in utter silence
I only have those eight words to justify
I lost my phone on a summer day
I do not intend to say the whole truth
That I was exhausted
That I needed a break, from everyone
Old acquaintances
Unshackled from the devil, the tiny screen,
I will not have to explain
I was too weak to either fight or escape;
so in all convenience,
I lost my phone on that summer day.
